Donkeys saved from 'slaughter' in urgent rescue operation

In an urgent joint intervention, authorities and equestrian volunteers in the Eastern Cape rescued 25 donkeys destined for slaughter at an illicit abattoir near Makhanda. Officials confiscated 200kg of uninspected meat on site, revoking the operator's licence immediately.
