Political tensions in Nelson Mandela Bay escalated sharply after a petrol bomb attack on the home of DA councillor candidate Kayzel Forbes in Kariega.

The late-night attack left Forbes' 17-year-old daughter injured and gutted several rooms.

In a separate development, People’s Power mayoral candidate Siyanda Mayana was arrested on the R75 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
