Parties to fight appointment of Nqwazi as city manager

Opposition parties and a coalition partner continue to express outrage about last week’s council meeting where the ANC rammed through the appointment of a city manager. The parties insist that the meeting had no quorum, resulting in Noxolo Nqwazi’s appointment being irregular. In a media conference called by the DA, UDM, ACDP and FF+ on Monday, the parties said they did not recognise the appointment of Nqwazi and called on speaker Gary van Niekerk to urgently reconvene a meeting.
